The authors of The Silver Way are taking part in the following conference in Bangkok:

In commemoration of the DAY OF THE GALLEON (8th October), proclaimed by UNESCO in 2009 to celebrate the beginnings of world trade and cross-cultural contacts via the Manila-Acapulco galleons which linked Asia with America, Europe and as far as Africa from 1565 to 1815,

the Hispanic & Latin American Studies (Thammasat University) with the collaboration of UNESCO and the Embassies of the Republics of Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru and the Philippines and the Kingdom of Spain to Thailand, will be hosting the international conference on

“TRANSPACIFIC CONNECTIVITY THROUGH THE MANILA GALLEON: SOUTHEAST ASIA, THE PACIFIC COAST OF THE AMERICAS AND SPAIN”
